Technology use: One of the greatest blessings and curses of our world today is our dependency on technology to do just about anything. Smartphones and computers may help with ease of communication and work flow, but they also promote poor posture and extended periods of sedentary movement. No matter how you’re using technology, make sure to take regular breaks away from the screen now and then. Stress: Stress may be unavoidable in your work day, but the management of your stress is completely up to you. Skipping meals: Low blood sugar doesn’t just make people hangry; it can lead to future overeating and other unhealthy habits that take a toll on your entire body. Instead, make sure to have some healthy grab-n-go options (like berries, nuts, or granola bars) in your office kitchen at your desk to help you get through the rest of the workday without the munchies.
Lack of sleep: When you can’t sleep at night, your body actually releases proteins that can trigger chronic pain and lead you to a nasty headache. Even if you can’t sleep for the full 7 to 8 hours that is healthy for an adult, make sure to take time to let your body fully relax. Close your eyes and practice slow breathing.
